Tomczak became the talk of Poland in 2000 in 2000, when, along with co-accused Polish Agreement member Halina Nowina-Konopka He damaged a work created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan, which was on display at the National Gallery of Art Zacheta in Warsaw.
