Davies’s first job as a faculty member came in West Virginia Wesleyan College, in the following years, he taught economics for a year at West Virginia University. In the era of the dot-com boom when he quit academia, he went on to be chief financial officer and CFO at Parabon Computation, where he was co-inventor of an invention that generates supercomputing capacity from idle Internet-connected computers. He was also the recipient of an NASA grant to develop statistical methods to mine data with supercomputers. After 2001, the researcher was a part of the faculty of Duquesne University where he helped develop the economics degree which he is continuing to work as a professor at present.
